adMad Trivia Fortnight
That was the last question of the inaugural Trivia Fortnight series. The winner for the day is Shyam!! Congrats to you!!!
The wholesale dealer was indeed Levi Strauss who went into a partnership with Jacob Davis. They innovated on the normal work pants used by the miners by attaching copper rivets to the pockets so that they didnt tear even when there are gold ingots put in it. Of course, you 'll agree, the business turned out to be more lucrative than goldmining itself :-)
Here is an Indian connection to jeans. The earliest known pre-cursor for jeans is the Indian export of a thick cotton cloth, in the 16th century, known as dungaree. Dyed in indigo, it was sold near the Dongarii Fort near Mumbai. Sailors cut it to suit them. So, there's one more thing India can claim to have invented ;-)))
Will be tallying the points for the entire trivia Fortnight series and will be declaring the winners on Monday. Also will be starting our second set of Trivia Fortnight on the same day. So do visit this site start answering right from monday..
Have a great weekend guys...
